Kindergarten is Ducky!
As you know we spent the month of May tracking the growth of chicken eggs in our classroom. We were very disappointed when not 1 egg hatched out of 36! The high school teacher that also hatches eggs with us, did not have any chickens either. We knew that it was disappointing to our kiddos and tried calling every farm within 50 miles to see if we could borrow some chicks for a few days. We didn't have any luck with that- but we were able to borrow some baby ducks! The boys and girls were so surprised when they came in this morning and saw two baby ducks in our classes. We got to pet them, read a story with them and watch them swim around in a kiddie pool. The boys and girls talked about things that the ducks had in common with baby chicks and things that make them different. Although it wasn't the same as watching our own chicks hatch, we were so grateful to be able to have ducks for a day!
Wow. This is so wonderful. You do such an amazing job taking care of the kids. You made their day!
ReplyDeleteWow! Sarang told me about the ducks the moment he stepped in the house...Kids must have had a fun time watching the ducks :) Can't thank you enough, Mrs. Summers, for taking so much effort to bring a smile on kids' faces..
