We Love our Earth!

This week in our wonderful Kindergarten class, we explored the world of plants and Earth Day!
We finished learning about plants and we planted our own lima bean seeds! Our plant tasting party was so much fun! We tried broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, pumpkin seeds, radishes, bananas, strawberries, and many more! We were surprised by the foods we liked!

Earth Day was a big part of our week! We talked about all the different things we can do to save our Earth! We talked about recycling, saving water, planting trees, and picking up trash! Today, we helped our school by going on a Litter Walk! We picked up trash from our school playground.

For our Earth Day project, we each made a promise to save the Earth and we created our own Earth by mixing blue, green, and white paint! They look great!

WE LOVE SPRING!

This week was full of activities about plants! This week, we learned how plants grow from seeds and the parts of a plant. We talked about the things that plants need to survive like water, air, and sunlight. We did activities such as measuring plants, labeling a seed, exploring plants on the computer, and watching a plant video!
Next week, we will be continuing our plant exploration and growing our own lima bean plants, along with celebrating Earth Day!

This week with our Boulan buddies, we created sunflowers for our hallway bulletin boards! We cut out our pictures and colored the middle of the sunflower, then glued on petals and a stem! Feel free to check them out in our Kindergarten hallway!

What is the weather like today?

This week, we started learning about the weather! We talked about different types of weather, thought about what we wear in differnt types of weather, and how the weather changes!

We started by charting the weather every morning! Our meteorologists checked the weather for us and we used pictures each day. We found out that on Monday it was sunny, Tuesday was cloudy, Wednesday was clouday, and Thursday was sunny!

In our centers, we also did many activities with weather! We looked around the room for hidden clouds with sight words and we drew the different types of weather! We also read a story about a rain storm and used sight words to talk about a rainy day!

With our Boulan Buddies this week, we had four weather stations. First, we picked our favoirte type of weather and wrote a hint about it. Our friends had to guess the weather! Next, we colored a rainbow, using colors based on things we liked. Then we sorted weather words and read weather books with our buddies!

Next week, we will start learning about plants and seeds!
